Fluted antique Victorian bone china loving cup in Imari pattern and colours planted with miniature white daffidols. In very good condition. Manufactored by Samuel Radford c1900. A loving cup is a double-handled mug commonly used at weddings to celebrate the happy couple’s union and to symbolise the pledge they have made to one another. They are also frequently used at livery companies and City of London banquets as a toast to friendship and fraternity. They were particularly popular during the Victorian times for their sentimental and commemorative value.
