Lovely Antique Burgess & Leigh (B & L) Pottery bowl in the Imari style. B & L were a British pottery manufacturer (known as "Burleigh") based in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, which operated from 1862 and used the B & L mark.

Imari Ware was traditional Japanese porcelain produced in Arita and exported from the port of Imari, characterized by blue, red, green, and gold, which was popular in Europe during the 17th-19th centuries.  This fruit bowl would have been made in Stoke in the late 19thc and early 20th c.

Generously planted with little blue muscari bulbs which have a subtle scent and flower for ages. They can then be planted out into the garden to flower again next season (they look particuarly pretty either naturalised in grass or planted in old terracotta pots). The bowl can then be used for a multiple of purposes as it is such good condition.
