Large installation in the Park Room, Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London: A six month project celebrating the seasons, sustainablility and biodiversity

I  love bringing a sense of continuity and belonging to all my projects, big and small. From an early age I was influenced by my artist parents who both loved gardening & interiors.  I was bewitched by David Hick's   and fell in love with his sketches of spring bulbs in old clay pots and from then onwards was always curious about potted plants in peoples homes.

I began my career working in urban regeneration in Cape Town and then in London with Sheppard Robson Architects.  I studied garden design with John Brooks at the RBG Kew. and worked on historical garden restoration  projects at Elizabeth Banks where I was studio assistant to Tom Stuart-Smith,and Todd Longstaffe-Gowan - a wonderful apprenticeship.

I was in the corporate world for many years and lived and gardened in England, Africa and the Caribbean. I started The English Potted Plant Co. during Lockdown as an online business selling lavender grown on our allotment and  reclamation terracotta pots!

We've undertaken a wide range of projects from large country gardens to Mayfair street boxes, corporate interior installations to London suburban homes. Over the last five years we've hand potted more than 2000 antique & vintage potted plants, made countless wreaths, installed multiple installations and more window & street boxes than we care to remember! A list of some of our projects can be found here

PS: Since moving to Oxfordshire, it quietly delights me that Hick's famous garden The Grove is at the bottom of our hill.
