I'm Julia, hello!

Although very much a forward-looking person, I'm inspired by a love of bringing continuity and a sense of tradition and belonging to all my projects, big and small. I particulalry enjoy how landscapes evolve with each generation whilst remaining timeless, as does all good design.

I began my career working with Sheppard Robson Architects and went on to study garden design with John Brooks at the RBG Kew. I was assistant to Tom Stuart-Smith,and Todd Longstaffe-Gowan. at Elizabeth Banks & Associates and worked with various landscape practises in London.
After starting a family, we lived in Africa and the Caribbean for 15 years, and I set up a micro flower farm in Kwazulu Natal which grew old English roses for weddings and was run as a social enterprise. The English Potted Plant Co. came about during Lockdown in June 2020 as an online business selling vintage terracotta potted plants and has grown into a garden design business since then with clients across Greater & Central London.
