An exceptional Early Victorian/Georgian ironstone urn with blue and white transferware pattern of pastoral scenes, flower groups and scrolls. It has a lovely scalloped edge, scalloped bowl stem and foot and ornate handles and is in very good condition. Judging by the mark, we believe this to be made by Elija Jones potteries in the early 19th century and is part of the Elijah Mayer illustrated ' Illustrations from the Bible' and part of the Palestine series - as this urn is called 'Moses' and is marked 'Stone'. However we have a fraction of doubt about this as the mark is not entireley the same and it could also be a reprodcution made at the same time, which makes it of similar value.
