Ridgway ironstone jardinières with Japanese-style bamboo handles are a product of the famed Staffordshire pottery Ridgway during the Victorian era's Japonisme craze, blending English ironstone with East Asian aesthetics like bamboo motifs and often intricate designs. Ridgeways became known for for high-quality earthenware and ironstone. The distinctive "bamboo" handles, molded to look like bundled bamboo stalks, were a key feature, adding an exotic, naturalistic touch.
