An excellent large Poole Pottery bowl in mint condition.  Carefully planted with cheerful early-flowering Tête-à-tête miniature daffidols which will flower for weeks brightening up the gloomiest of days and bringing hope of spring.  A beautifully sustainable gift for someone special with the added pleasure of being able to re-use after the bulbs have finished flowering.

Poole Pottery originated in the coastal town of Poole in Dorset, in 1873, under the initial name Carter & Company. The company specialised in architectural tiles (many seen in the underground still!) before branching into decorative pottery in the 1920s. It was during this era that Poole Pottery truly began to establish itself as a leader in ceramic design, blending traditional techniques with modern artistic movements. This bowl is an excellent example of Traditional Ware (1930s–1950s). Introduced by Truda Carter, these pieces often depicted nature-inspired motifs, such as flowers, animals, and marine life, and were highly sought after by collectors looking for functional yet decorative ceramics.
