This soup tureen with its lid is in the  Honfleur pattern featuring a basket of flowers and vines in the center with PB&S Aesthetic Movement Transfer-Wear Brown  was made by the Powell, Biship, & Stonier Pottery in 1884. Powell, Bishop and Stonier were successors of a number of companies firstly established in 1851.  The makers mark on the back indicates this as a piece of the Honfleur pattern made by P.B. & S. It's registration number is shown as Rd. 7999 which places it's date of manufacture as 1884. 

 

The tureen is in very good condition  for age, with a small flee nip on the under edge of the lid. Any discoloration on bottom appears under or in the glaze, there are no cracks.

 

Planted with cyclamen which will flower until the spring. Our potted plants in vintage terracotta and upcycled vintage and antique china make wonderful and sustainable gifts as each element can be re-used and is special. We pack very carefully and include detailed care instructions and provenance (where applicable) and courier within 3-5 days with overnight couriers. Gift wrapping with Cambridge Imprint paper and vintage ribbon is an option along with a personalised card.
