Lovely Victorian Antique Porcelain Morley & Co. Mason's Ironstone Small Unlidded Soup Tureen and serving plate. Good condition, soup tureen has two hairline cracks in the inside. The plate has no cracks or chips and is in good condition. Planted with winter pansies which will flower indoors all winter.
Morley & Co were established in 1845 in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent and were known for their ironstone. In 1852 Morley bought the moulds of C. J. Mason, inventor of Mason's Ironstone China. In 1858 George Ashworth joined the business which became Morley & Ashworth, so we know this tureen and plate was made between 1852 and 1858 as this was a Mason's design.
