A beautiful vintage Geo. Jones & Sons “Crescent” English ironstone bowl.
A truly magnifiscent piece in exceptional condition. The most gorgeous deep rich red colour with gold geometric pattern and gold foot. Has a pale yellow interior with a colourful floral border, a central flower motif, and a rich burgundy exterior band with a gold geometric pattern. Estimated age: c. 1920s–1940s.
George Jones & Sons (later Crescent Potteries) was a prominent Stoke-on-Trent, England-based pottery manufacturer (1861–1957) founded by George Jones, specializing in high-quality majolica, earthenware, and fine bone china. Famous for its Crescent China mark, the company began as a Trent Potteries firm in 1865, adopted the "Crescent" trademark in 1873, and was known for intricate, often hand-painted designs.
