A very large antique ironstone loving cup with pink transferware print with blue handpainted details. The botanical pattern of dog roses with miniature violas looks Victorian Arts & Crafts Movement - so approx 1880-1890's. Has obviously had a very interesting life, but is deliciosly 'shabby chic' and VERY big!

A loving cup is a double-handled mug commonly used at weddings to celebrate the happy couple’s union and to symbolise the pledge they have made to one another. They are also frequently used at livery companies and City of London banquets as a toast to friendship and fraternity. They were particularly popular during the Victorian times for their sentimental and commemorative value.

Planted up with scented geranium P. Sidoides with us velvety deep wine burgundy flowers and olivey green crinkly leaves.  Our scented geraniums are planted carefully in their antique pot and will flower all summer long, before being repotted into terracotta pot to be over-wintered back for next season. We enclose detailed instructions on their care and the provenance of the pot.

We offer gift wrapping with beautiful Cambridge Imprint paper, vintage ribbon and personalised gift card. Couriered with Royal Mail Tracked 24 with next day delivery.  If you have any issues on arrival, please contact me — I’m always happy to help.
