An exceptional porcelain Ridgway 'Chinese Japan' in the 'Corey Hill'  pattern in impeccable condition.  The pattern is the popular European interpretation of Japanese Imari style, which often combined Chinese-influenced shapes with Japanese-style coloring (specifically deep blues and rich reds/terracotta). The pattern, with its distinct polychrome transferware, became popular around the late Victorian period, roughly circa 1890–1910.

Rich blue underglaze printed with hand-applied orange and gold enamel accents featuring stylised flowers and traditional Oriental-style imagery.  The pattern was popular in both blue/white and polychrome versions, with rare pieces, such as the "Corey Hill" variation, highly sought after by collectors of 19th-century English transferware.

Planted up with scented geranium P. Friesdorf which has lovely dark leaves and lipstick-red flowers. Our scented geraniums are planted carefully in their antique bowl, will flower all summer long and can be over-wintered back in their terracotta pots. We enclose detailed instructions on their care and the provenance of the bowl.
