This porcelain Regency bowl has it all: Pink lustre detail on the rim and foot and a good bat printed image of a country home and deer park. It is planted with Pulsitalla, the pasque flower, Pulsatilla vulgaris, a pretty spring flower, traditionally a sign that Easter has arrived.
The bute-shaped bowl is most likely made in the Rathbone factory of Tunstall, Staffordshire between 1810-1820 although the bowl is unmarked. The bowl is in excellent condition - no cracks, chips or crazing - just some of the lustre has rubbed off on the rim entirely commnesurate with age. It also has a very sweet transfer pattern on the inside of the bowl.
Planted up with scented geranium P. Deerwood Lavender Lad which has pretty lilac flowers with a deliciously subtle . Our scented geraniums are planted carefully in their antique bowl, will flower all summer long and can be over-wintered back in their terracotta pots ready again to be potted up for next season.
