Stunning, oversized Royal Doulton "Nankin" (Pattern D3794) centerpiece bowl, dating to approximately 1920. This is a significantly larger-than-standard example, measuring a substantial 38cm (15 inches) in diameter.

Key Features:

  • Design: Features the classic Nankin transferware pattern in bold cobalt blue and white, accented with hand-painted dark green detailing along the rim.
  • Construction: This is a premium footed version. Notably, the join between the bowl and the raised foot is seamless, indicating superior craftsmanship and structural integrity. The raised foot and specific dark green rim moves this into the "statement piece" category. This isn't just a serving dish; it’s a high-end ornamental item from the D3794 series. Because of the massive size and the footed base—which is much rarer than flat-bottomed basins, this increases the value.
  • Markings: The base bears the Royal Doulton "Lion and Crown" backstamp and a Registration Number (Rd No), confirming its authenticity and era.  Rd No 597783 was registered around 1912, supporting the 1920s production estimate.
  • Condition: Very Good Condition (VGC). No chips, cracks, or repairs. The glaze remains vibrant, and the foot is solid with no stress marks. (Note: As is typical for 100-year-old Doulton, very light crazing may be present but does not detract from the piece). One tiny fleabite on the green rim trim.

Dimensions:

  • Diameter: 38cm (approx. 15 inches)
  • Height: 12.5cm

This is a true statement piece, perfect as a statement piece or a magnifiscent planter.
