The perfect bowl for spring bulbs in excellent condition and planted with hyacinths. Arthur Wood Pottery was based at the Bradwell Works in Longport, Stoke-on-Trent, the premises of Capper & Wood established in 1884 producing primarily teapots. In 1967 the company acquired the Carlton Works Pottery and continued manufacturing ranges under the Carlton Ware name.

Very pretty pale aquamarine colour with handpained flowers in pale pastel colours. Woods were particulalry prolific during the 1920's and 30's and they were known for thir application of bold design and modern shapes during the Art Deco period. They expanded their output of the factory at this time with the popular use of floral patterns and lustre used in the production of various items including pottery jugs, vases, rose bowls and ornaments. This bowl is clearly from that time. The works name was adopted in the trade name ‘Royal Bradwell’ which was used extensively during this period as can be seen on the makers back mark with pattern nos 4232.
