A rare and early Derby sugar bowl dating from around 1790. In an Imari palette and profusely gilded.
Has faint red makers mark. The bowl is complete, but has had it's foot beautifully stapled back sometime in the 19th century, which frankly adds to the charm. The decoration and gilding is in very good condition, but the inside has some staining from age (shown). A hefty collectors piece from the early years of this factory.
Planted with Gold Lace primulas which will flower for weeks indoors.
