An excellent William Adams & Sons "Lowestoft" pattern (Pattern No. 2087), which is part of their highly collectible Calyx Ware pottery. Introduced around 1930, Calyx Ware was a trade name for a line of high-quality earthenware or ironstone, often featuring hand-painted designs, later transitioning to hand-coloured transfer patterns.
 
 ‘Lowestoft’ is well known for its soft pale celadon/duck-egg green tint that defines Adams Calyx Ware.  The design itself dates back to 1928 and during the 1930s, it was supplied to the Princess Royal as her favourite pottery.  Pieces made before 1966 were heavily hand-enamelled at the Staffordshire factory. Production continued even after Adams was absorbed into the Wedgwood Group, finally ceasing in 1984 due to strict new clean-air regulations that impacted the traditional manufacturing process of this specific glaze.
 
Planted generously with stippled cerise pink 'Crayon Violet' cyclamens in an inner pot with our proprietary compost mix, the cyclamens will flower for weeks and when they have finished flowering can then be planted into the garden. Our potted plants come with carefully researched provenances and detailed plant care instructions. We also offer gift wrap using Cambridge Imprint paper and a handwritten card.
