This piece is a French faïence café au lait bowl decorated in the "Formose" pattern, manufactured by the historic pottery Saint-Amand (Moulin des Loups) in northern France and is considered highly collectible.
The style is an inspired Japonisme transfer design and features a prominent multi-tiered Asian pagoda surrounded by flowering branches and traditional border patterns. This pattern and specific shape were heavily produced during the 1920s. It has an English-looking makers mark and whilst many of these French transferware patterns used standard regional stamps, the crown backstamp was a stock mark used to denote "Terre de Fer" (an ironstone-style durable earthenware) or "Porcelaine Opaque". In pristine condition.
It's in pristine condition and planted up generously with hyacinths and natural moss with our proprietary compost mix. The hyacinths will flower for weeks with their gorgeous scent and when they have finished flowering can then be planted into the garden. Choice of colours for the hyacinths, please see options.
Our potted plants come with carefully researched provenances and detailed plant care instructions. We also offer gift wrap using Cambridge Imprint paper and a handwritten card.
Packed very carefully with recycled packaging and shipped overnight with Royal Mail Tracked 24 within 5 working days. Please note we do not ship on Thursday and Fridays to avoid boxes sitting in warehouses over the weekend. Please let us know if your plant has a specific deadline.
