What we love about this Tuscan spongeware bowl is that it can be used in so many ways - for salads, as a fruit bowl on your kitchen table or as a planter for kitchen herbs or scented geraniums. A truly wonderful present for a foodie who also loves plants!
"Stoviglierie" is not a single maker or specific pottery factory, but rather the Italian common noun for tableware, earthenware, or kitchen ceramic vessels (stoviglie). In a collecting context, pieces marked with "Stoviglierie Italy" or "Dipinti a Mano Stoviglierie" refer to mid-to-late 20th-century (predominantly 1950s through 1970s) hand-painted majolica and earthenware produced by various regional artisan workshops across Italy, particularly in ceramic hubs like Veneto, Piedmont, and Tuscany.
Thyme is easy to grow indoors on a kitchen window and as long as it is cut regulalry, should thrive right throught summer into early winter at least. We always enclose clear & detailed care instructions along with the provenance of the bowl and if this is a gift for someone special we'll also throw in some printed recipes and ideas with how to present and decorate with this lovely bowl!
